Montifringilla is a genus of birds in the finch family, Fringillidae. The genus contains three species, all of which are commonly known as snowfinches. These birds are found in mountainous regions of Asia.

The three species are the White-winged Snowfinch (Montifringilla nivalis), the Blanford's Snowfinch (Montifringilla blanfordi), and the Père David's Snowfinch (Montifringilla davidiana). The White-winged Snowfinch has the widest distribution, ranging from southeastern Europe across central Asia to the Himalayas. Blanford's Snowfinch is found in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan, while Père David's Snowfinch is native to Mongolia and parts of China.

Snowfinches are typically found at high altitudes, often above the tree line, inhabiting rocky slopes, scree, and cliffs. They are well-adapted to cold environments and can be seen foraging on the ground for seeds, insects, and other small invertebrates. Their plumage often provides camouflage against the rocky terrain.

The breeding behavior of Montifringilla species involves nesting in rock crevices or burrows. They are generally social birds, often forming flocks outside the breeding season. Their calls are typically chirping and metallic in nature. The conservation status of these species varies, but none are currently considered globally threatened.
