monoubiquitinketjuja
Monoubiquitinketjuja, known in English as monoubiquitinated chains or monoubiquitin chains, refers to a specific post-translational modification where a single ubiquitin molecule is attached to a substrate protein, and then subsequent ubiquitin molecules are added to that first ubiquitin. This creates a chain-like structure, but importantly, the linkage within the chain is not through the typical lysine residues found in polyubiquitin chains. Instead, it often involves other amino acids or modifications on the ubiquitin molecule itself.
The formation and function of monoubiquitinketjuja are distinct from those of traditional polyubiquitin chains. While polyubiquitin
