Modulpaneler are standardized modular panels used as building blocks for modular construction and interior systems. They are manufactured off-site to defined tolerances and assembled on-site into walls, floors, ceilings or façades. Typically they feature interlocking edges or mechanical fasteners and may include a frame or be self-supporting. The modular approach enables configurable sizes, finishes and insulation.

Materials commonly used include aluminum and steel for frames, aluminum composite panels, wood-based panels, fibreglass-reinforced polymer and ceramic or mineral cores. Some panels incorporate insulation cores such as PIR or mineral wool to meet thermal requirements, while finishes range from powder coating, anodizing and laminates to ceramic coatings.

Design and engineering considerations address structural load, weatherproofing, acoustic performance and services integration. Interlocking joints, gasket systems and mounting rails allow rapid assembly and accurate alignment. Many modulpaneler systems support integrated electrical, data and HVAC channels, with provisions for service access doors.

Applications include building façades, interior partitions, cleanrooms, laboratories, exhibition displays, retail installations and temporary structures. The modular approach enables deconstruction and reconfiguration, supporting reuse and reducing on-site disruption.

Advantages include faster construction, reduced material waste, easier quality control and simpler replacement of damaged panels. Potential limitations include higher upfront design effort, possible thermal bridging at joints and the need for compatible supporting structures and sealing strategies.
