Modernizmusra is a term that refers to the artistic and cultural movement known as Modernism, particularly as it manifested and was understood in Hungary. It encompasses a broad range of stylistic and thematic innovations in literature, visual arts, music, and architecture that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Hungarian Modernism was characterized by a rejection of traditional forms and subject matter, a focus on individual experience and subjective perception, and an embrace of experimentation.

In literature, this translated to a departure from romanticism and realism, with writers exploring interiority, stream of consciousness, and new poetic forms. Key figures often associated with this period in Hungary include Endre Ady, Mihály Babits, and Dezső Kosztolányi, whose works grappled with themes of modernity, alienation, and national identity.
