modenfrequenzen
Modenfrequenzen, also known as modal frequencies or natural frequencies, are the characteristic frequencies at which a system will oscillate when it is disturbed from its equilibrium position and then allowed to vibrate freely. These frequencies are inherent properties of the system and depend on its physical characteristics, such as mass, stiffness, and geometry. For a simple mass-spring system, the modenfrequenz is determined by the mass and the spring constant. More complex structures, like bridges or buildings, have multiple modenfrequenzen, each corresponding to a different mode of vibration.
When a system is subjected to external forces that match one of its modenfrequenzen, resonance can occur.
