This corresponds to frequencies roughly between 30 gigahertz and 300 gigahertz. This portion of the electromagnetic spectrum is often referred to as millimeter-wave (mmWave) or extremely high frequency (EHF) radiation.

Millimeter waves exhibit unique propagation characteristics. They are highly directional and can be easily absorbed by atmospheric gases like water vapor and oxygen, leading to significant attenuation over longer distances.
