micromeetrites
Micromeetrites is a term encountered occasionally in planetary science and meteoritics, but it is not a standardized or widely adopted taxonomic category. In some sources it is used as a near-synonym for very small meteorites or meteorite-derived particles—sub-millimeter to millimeter fragments that originate from meteoroid ablation or fragmentation during atmospheric entry and subsequently become incorporated in terrestrial materials such as ice, sediments, or soils. Because usage varies, the exact definition and size range of micromeetrites are not consistently applied.
Micromeetrites, when identified, are understood to originate from extraterrestrial material and can be recovered from environments
These particles are typically small, and their extraterrestrial origin is inferred from mineralogy, targeted elemental abundances
