Mezoporowate refers to materials that possess pores with diameters ranging from 2 to 50 nanometers. These materials fall into a distinct category between microporous materials (pores < 2 nm) and macroporous materials (pores > 50 nm). The controlled size of these pores gives mezoporowate materials unique surface area properties and adsorption characteristics, making them highly valuable in various scientific and industrial applications.

The structure of mezoporowate materials can be highly ordered, as seen in mesoporous silica, or amorphous. Their large surface areas, typically ranging from hundreds to over a thousand square meters per gram, are a direct consequence of the numerous pores. This high surface area is crucial for applications involving adsorption, catalysis, and drug delivery.

Common examples of mezoporowate materials include mesoporous silica, mesoporous carbons, and certain metal oxides.
