Mesurament is the act or process of determining a quantity relative to a standard, by comparing an attribute of a phenomenon, object, or process with a predefined unit. The result is a numerical value accompanied by a unit and often an estimate of uncertainty. In science, technology, industry, and daily life, mesurament enables comparison, control, and clear communication across contexts.

Measurement relies on standards and instruments. The International System of Units (SI) provides base and derived units, with traceability linking measurements to these standards through a documented calibration chain.
