Ecology: They are depicted as opportunistic predators, feeding on fish and small vertebrates in riparian habitats, with behavior that is inferred to be diurnal to crepuscular. Territorial adults may use display structures in social interactions; parental care is speculative.

Classification and discovery: In the fictional taxonomy, Mensurus is placed in the family Mensuridae within the order Mensuriformes. The type species, Mensurus intellectus, was proposed in a 2025 speculative monograph by Dr. A. Marek.
