In a masteronly setup, a designated node, the "master," is the sole entity responsible for handling all write operations and authoritative data management. Slave or replica nodes, if present, are configured to only accept read-only queries from clients and cannot initiate any data modifications themselves.

This configuration is often employed to simplify management, enhance data integrity, and prevent accidental corruption by limiting the number of points where data can be altered. By centralizing write operations on a single master, it becomes easier to monitor, back up, and control changes.
