On stage, maskörer must consider lighting and long performance hours, while on screen they account for camera and lighting requirements.

Tools and materials used by maskörer include cosmetic products, prosthetic appliances, adhesives and sealants, tools for shaping and blending, airbrush systems, wigs, and hair products. Cleanliness, skin safety, and allergy awareness are essential, along with the ability to work under tight production schedules and maintain consistent looks throughout shoots or runs.
