In standard English, the corresponding adjective is manufacturable. The term is typically used in discussions about design for manufacturability, though it is not widely adopted in formal documentation.

Design for manufacturability focuses on reducing complexity, enabling high yields, and lowering cost by selecting suitable materials, standard components, and process-friendly geometries. Key considerations include simple geometry, minimal part count, uniform wall thickness, symmetrical features, and tolerances that are achievable with common equipment. Avoiding undercuts, features that hinder tooling release, and the need for custom tooling improves manufacturability.

Common manufacturing processes across industries include injection molding, casting, machining, sheet metal forming, and additive manufacturing. The manufacturability of a part depends on the chosen process and the factory’s capabilities; a design that is highly manufacturable in one plant may be more challenging in another.
