mRNAstabilitet refers to the longevity and integrity of messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules within a cell. mRNA serves as a temporary blueprint, carrying genetic instructions from DNA to ribosomes, where proteins are synthesized. The stability of an mRNA molecule dictates how long it will persist in the cytoplasm and thus how much protein can be produced from it. This stability is a crucial regulatory mechanism in gene expression, allowing cells to fine-tune protein production in response to internal and external cues.

Several factors contribute to mRNAstabilitet.
