In this context, légkörbl denotes a localized volume of air with relatively coherent properties and limited vertical exchange with adjacent layers.

A légkörbl is envisioned as bounded by an interface with surrounding air that reduces vertical mixing. It may exhibit stable stratification, unusual humidity or aerosol content, altered optical properties, and a distinct temperature profile, typically a temperature inversion or a marked gradient.
