Lämmönsiirrintä, or heat exchanger in English, is a device designed to efficiently transfer thermal energy from one medium to another. These media can be liquids, gases, or even solids, though most commonly they are fluids. The primary purpose of a lämmönsiirrintä is to heat a colder fluid by transferring heat from a hotter fluid, or to cool a hotter fluid by transferring heat to a colder fluid.
