Lyuk is a small city and municipal seat in the fictional Nordmark region. It lies along the Lyuk River, at about 180 meters above sea level, roughly 120 kilometers from the regional capital. The city covers about 95 square kilometers and has an estimated population around 12,000.

Lyuk has a long urban history dating back to the 14th century when it began as a river trading post. It developed steadily as a local administrative and market center, gaining municipal rights in the 17th century and expanding its governance and infrastructure through the 18th and 19th centuries. The modern economy blends agriculture, light manufacturing, and services, with growing emphasis on tourism tied to the river landscape and historic sites.

Geographically, Lyuk experiences a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons. Average annual temperatures are around 9 to 10°C, and annual precipitation ranges near 650 to 800 millimeters.

The local economy is supported by agriculture—notably wheat and dairy—alongside wood-related manufacturing and services in the city center. Cultural life centers on the Market Square, the historic Lyuk Church, and a hilltop fortress ruin visible from the river. The annual Lyuk Festival celebrates harvest, crafts, and community life.

Lyuk is governed by a municipal council and a mayor elected for four-year terms. It is part of the Nordmark Prefecture, with regional services provided by the Nordmark administration. The population is predominantly Nordmen, with small minority communities. Transportation includes regional roads, a nearby railway station about 20 kilometers away, and a local bus network; a small river port serves recreational and light commercial traffic. Education facilities include a community college and several primary and secondary schools.
