Lytyje is a small village located in the Kėdainiai District Municipality of Kaunas County in central Lithuania. The settlement lies within the historic region of Aukštaitija, situated approximately 15 kilometres east of the town of Kėdainiai and 30 kilometres north of Kaunas. According to the 2011 national census, the population of Lytyje was 48 residents, a decline from earlier decades due to rural-urban migration.

The local economy is primarily based on agriculture, with residents engaged in small-scale crop production and livestock rearing. The surrounding landscape is characterized by low-lying fields and patches of mixed forest, typical of the Lithuanian countryside. In the early 20th century, Lytyje was known for its traditional wooden cottage architecture, and some of these historic houses have been preserved as part of a small rural heritage project.

Public services in the village are limited; the nearest primary school, health post, and retail facilities are located in the nearby town of Skirda.
