Luftmakt, a term used in Norwegian and Swedish defense analysis, translates to air power and refers to the ability to influence political and military outcomes through control of the air. It encompasses the capabilities of an air force to achieve objectives by gaining air superiority, conducting offensive counter-air operations, executing strategic bombing and interdiction, providing close air support, and ensuring airlift and mobility. It also includes reconnaissance and surveillance (ISR), electronic warfare, air defense, and increasingly space and cyber components as part of a broader, multi-domain approach.
