A llamador is a type of door knocker, typically found on the doors of homes in Spain and Latin America. Historically, these were often made of metal, such as brass or iron, and were designed in various shapes and sizes. Some llamadores were purely functional, while others were elaborately decorated with heraldic symbols, animal motifs, or even religious imagery. The act of using a llamador was a traditional way to announce one's presence and request entry.

The design of a llamador often reflected the status and wealth of the homeowner. More ornate and heavy llamadores might indicate a more affluent household. In some regions, specific styles of llamadores became characteristic of local architecture and craftsmanship. The sound produced by the llamador also played a role; a distinct ringing or rapping sound would signal a visitor.

While modern doorbells and intercom systems have largely replaced traditional llamadores, they are still found on many historic buildings and are often preserved as decorative elements. In some contemporary designs, new llamadores are incorporated, blending modern aesthetics with the traditional function.
