ledslar
ledslar is a term used in speculative biology and science fiction to denote a hypothetical genus of bioluminescent, filamentous microorganisms. In the fictional account, ledslar organisms form intertwining mats that glow with a cool blue-green light and can spread across mineral surfaces in dim, nutrient-poor environments. The glow is emitted by luciferin-luciferase-like reactions triggered by mechanical disturbance or changes in chemical conditions, and colonies may reorganize to optimize light capture.
In the imagined ecology, ledslar inhabits dark cave systems, hydrothermal vents, and shaded rock faces where
