In a layersliteral representation, a value is wrapped by one or more literal layers. Each layer indicates that the contained content should be treated as a literal by downstream processors, and the original value is recovered by peeling away the layers in reverse order. For example, a value may be represented as L(L("Hello, world!")), with L marking a literal wrapper. The exact syntax is not standardized; different implementations may use varying tokens or brackets, but the guiding principle is layered literal preservation.
