Fragrances and dyes provide scent and color, while stabilizers and anti-foaming agents support formulation and use. Many formulations are designed for specific temperatures or machine types, such as high-efficiency washers.

Detergent formats include powders, liquids, and single-dose capsules. They are selected according to fabric type, washing temperature, and water hardness. Care labels guide use, and consumers are advised to avoid mixing detergents with other cleaners that could release hazardous gases or cause fabric damage.

Environmental and safety considerations include biodegradability, aquatic toxicity, and, in many markets, restrictions on phosphate content. Packaging recycling and sustainable sourcing are increasingly emphasized. Users should store lavateosed in original containers, follow dosing instructions, rinse thoroughly to reduce residue on fabrics, and keep products out of reach of children.
