lastvikt
Lastvikt is the maximum permissible payload a vehicle can carry beyond its own weight. In Swedish terminology it is calculated as the difference between the vehicle’s total allowed weight (totalvikt) and its own weight (tjänstevikt). The formula is lastvikt = totalvikt − tjänstevikt. The payload includes passengers, cargo and any equipment that increases the loaded weight above the vehicle’s empty weight.
The payload cannot exceed lastvikt; the sum of the vehicle’s own weight and the payload must not
Payload affects performance and safety. Heavier loads increase braking distance, reduce acceleration, and can alter handling
Understanding lastvikt helps in planning transport, choosing appropriate vehicles, and ensuring compliance with regulatory weight limits.
