Languseta is a constructed language created to serve as a neutral medium for international communication and linguistic experimentation. The project is community driven, with documentation and learning materials maintained by volunteers on open online platforms. The name Languseta combines elements intended to evoke language, simplicity, and broad accessibility.

Phonology and writing: Languseta uses a compact, largely phonemic inventory designed to be easy to pronounce for speakers of many language backgrounds. It has five vowels and about twenty consonants, with no phonemic tones. The standard writing system is a Latin-based alphabet with a few diacritics to mark vowel quality and stress. The language employs a simple syllable structure, typically (C)(C)V(C).

Grammar and syntax: The morphology is primarily agglutinative, with a manageable set of affixes marking tense, aspect, mood, number, and case. Word order is relatively flexible, but default sentences follow subject-verb-object. Noun phrases use case marking to indicate roles, reducing reliance on rigid word order. Pronouns have distinct subject and object forms, and the language provides straightforward mechanisms for negation and question formation.

Vocabulary and usage: The lexicon emphasizes internationally recognizable roots and transparent word formation through affixation and compounding. A formal system guides loanword adaptation to the phonology. Languseta’s resources include beginner courses, grammars, dictionaries, and example texts, and the language is used in online learning communities and academic discussions of constructed languages.

Status and reception: Since its inception in the early 2010s, Languseta has developed a small but active community of learners and contributors. Critics note limited practical utility outside organized communities and the ongoing challenge of maintaining a stable standard with diverse contributors.
