laavakäytävä
Laavakäytävä, also known as a lava tube, is a natural tunnel formed by flowing lava. It originates when a fluid lava flow erupts from a volcano. As the surface of the lava flow cools and hardens, it forms a crust. Molten lava continues to flow underneath this crust, much like water in a pipe. When the eruption ends and the lava drains out from within the hardened shell, a hollow tube or cave is left behind.
These geological formations are typically found in basaltic lava flows, which are known for their low viscosity
Laavakäytävät are significant for several reasons. They provide valuable insights into volcanic processes and the behavior
