Légútakon are air routes in aviation, i.e., standardized corridors through which aircraft travel in controlled airspace. These routes are part of the Air Traffic Services (ATS) network and are defined and maintained by national civil aviation authorities in coordination with international bodies such as ICAO and, in Europe, Eurocontrol. The purpose of légútakon is to provide predictable, conflict-free paths that enable efficient routing and safe separation of aircraft.

Structure and design: An ATS route typically consists of a sequence of navigational fixes or waypoints connected by declared tracks, and is assigned vertical limits (upper and/or lower) and, in some cases, specific reporting requirements. Routes may be designated as lower or upper depending on the airspace block and flight level. They enable IFR operations and, depending on the airspace, may be used by VFR flights within designated segments.

Operations: Airlines and pilots file flight plans that reference légútakon as part of the optimal routing between origin and destination. Controllers manage traffic to maintain separation and adapt routes in response to weather, congestion, or restrictions.

Administration and evolution: The légútak network evolves with airspace management strategies, such as the transition to free-route or flexible-route concepts, the adoption of performance-based navigation, and continuous monitoring to maximize efficiency and safety.
