kõikumise

Kõikumine is a term in Estonian that denotes a change in position, state or value over time. It is used broadly to describe movements that are not merely straight or static, including physical swaying as well as periodic variations or fluctuations in measured quantities. The genitive form kõikumise is used when describing the characteristic of the phenomenon, for example kõikumise amplitude or kõikumise ulatus.

In science and engineering, kõikumine refers to oscillatory motion around an equilibrium position. It is described by parameters such as amplitude, frequency and period.
