Käsitõsturid, also known as manual pallet jacks or pump trucks, are simple mechanical devices used for lifting and moving palletized loads. They are commonly found in warehouses, retail stores, and manufacturing facilities where goods are frequently transported on pallets. The primary function of a käsitõstur is to allow a single operator to lift a heavy pallet off the ground and move it to a desired location without the need for more complex machinery.

The operation of a käsitõstur typically involves a hydraulic pump mechanism. The operator inserts the forks of the device under the pallet. By repeatedly pumping a handle, the operator actuates the hydraulic system, which raises the forks and the pallet. Once the pallet is lifted to the desired height, the operator can then push or pull the käsitõstur to move the load. Lowering the pallet is usually achieved by turning a release valve, which allows the hydraulic fluid to return to the reservoir, gradually lowering the forks.

Käsitõsturid are designed for relatively short-distance movements and are not intended for stacking or transporting loads at significant heights. They are an essential piece of equipment for efficient material handling in many industrial and commercial settings due to their affordability, ease of use, and maneuverability.
