Kupującym is the instrumental singular form of the Polish present active participle kupujący, which derives from the verb kupować (to buy) or kupić (to purchase). The participle kupujący commonly functions as a noun meaning “the buyer” or “the purchaser,” especially in commercial and legal contexts. In ordinary language it appears with standard adjective-like declension, and the instrumental singular form is kupującym. The form is used after prepositions that require the instrumental case, most notably after z, in phrases such as z kupującym (with the buyer) or w umowie z kupującym (in an agreement with the buyer).

In formal documents, kupujący is often treated as a party-designator and may be capitalized as Kupujący to indicate a contracting party, analogous to Sprzedający (the seller). The word has feminine and plural variants corresponding to the gender and number of the people involved (for example, kupująca for a female buyer, kupujący for multiple buyers). The standard spelling with diacritics is kupującym; ASCII or non-diacritic renderings such as kupującym, kupaczym, or similar variants may appear in older or computer-limited texts, but kupującym is the correct form in contemporary Polish.
