Kulcsgenerálás is the Hungarian term for key generation. In cryptography and computer security, key generation is the process of creating cryptographic keys. The strength of cryptographic keys is directly related to their randomness. Truly random keys are the most secure, as they are impossible to predict. PRNGs produce sequences of numbers that appear random but are deterministic, meaning they can be reproduced if the initial seed is known. For critical applications, hardware random number generators (HRNGs) are preferred as they leverage physical phenomena to create truly random bits.

The length of a cryptographic key, measured in bits, also determines its security. Longer keys require more computational power to brute-force, making them more resistant to attacks. Common key lengths vary depending on the encryption algorithm being used, with standards like AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) supporting key sizes of 128, 192, and 256 bits. The secure generation and management of these keys are fundamental to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of information.
