Kriterienvalidität is a type of validity in research that assesses how well a particular measure correlates with a criterion. For instance, if a new, shorter depression questionnaire is developed, its concurrent validity would be evaluated by comparing its scores to those of a well-established, longer depression inventory administered concurrently to the same individuals. A strong correlation between the two measures would suggest good concurrent validity.
