Kreativitetin refers to the capacity to produce ideas, processes, or objects that are both novel and useful within a given context. The term traces to Latin creare and appears in Albanian as kreativiteti/kreativitetin in definite form. It encompasses cognitive, affective, and social dimensions, including the ability to think flexibly, tolerate ambiguity, and persevere in experimentation.

The study of creativity distinguishes domain-general and domain-specific aspects. The dominant theoretical frameworks include Amabile's componential theory, which argues that creativity arises from a combination of domain-relevant skills, creativity-relevant processes (such as divergent thinking and risk-taking), and intrinsic motivation. Sternberg and Lubart's investment theory likens creative individuals to investors who buy low and sell high—seeking ideas that are undervalued and later accepted. Other approaches emphasize social and cultural contexts, networks, and historical opportunity structures.

Measurement of creativity relies on tests of divergent thinking, such as the Torrance Tests, as well as qualitative assessments like the Consensual Assessment Technique, and broader indicators of impact and novelty. Critics point to the difficulty of defining and measuring creativity across domains and warn against conflating extravagance with creativity.

Educational and organizational efforts aim to foster kreativitet through problem-based learning, exposure to diverse domains, supportive leadership, psychological safety, and opportunities for iteration and feedback.
