kreatiivsus
Kreatiivsus is the Estonian term for creativity, derived from the German word kreativ, meaning “capable of imagination.” It is used broadly to describe the ability to generate novel ideas, solutions, or artistic expressions. The word entered Estonian use in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as the country developed a national cultural identity and sought to modernise its education system. In contemporary Estonian discourse, kreatiivsus is regarded as a key skill for personal development and economic innovation, appearing in policy documents on education, entrepreneurship and digital technology.
In the arts, kreatiivsus is celebrated through Estonia's rich tradition of folk music, theatre and literature.
Psychologically, kreatiivsus is linked to divergence of thinking, openness to experience, and risk‑taking. Research in Estonia
