Kosüsteemi is a term encountered in Estonian-language discussions of complex, interdependent systems, particularly in ecology and systems theory. In many contexts it is used to refer to a network of living organisms interacting with their physical environment to form a coherent whole. In standard ecological usage the more common term is ökosüsteem, but kosüsteemi or kosüsteem can appear in interdisciplinary writing or in discussions of cooperative or coupled systems.
