korekcijos

Korekcijos is the Lithuanian term for acts or processes of correction, adjustment, or rectification. The word is used across disciplines to denote making something more accurate or suitable by removing errors, updating values, or aligning with standards. In everyday language korekcijos often refer to textual corrections—typo fixes, grammar and punctuation corrections performed during proofreading or editing, sometimes described as korektūra in Lithuanian.

In science and engineering, korekcijos describe adjustments to measurements or data to account for systematic errors, instrumental bias, or environmental factors, ensuring results reflect true values. In finance and accounting, korekcijos denote adjustments to financial statements, budgets, or tax calculations, for example corrections of misstatements or updates after new information.

In medicine, particularly ophthalmology, regos korekcija (or korekcijos) refers to procedures that alter the refractive power of the eye to improve vision, such as laser-based refractive surgery.
