Kirtistambhas, often translated as "Towers of Fame," are monumental pillars or towers found in India, particularly associated with Jainism. These structures are typically adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures, depicting religious figures, scenes from mythology, and decorative motifs. The most famous examples are located in Rajasthan, with the Kirtistambha at Chittorgarh Fort being a prime example. This particular tower, built in the 15th century, is dedicated to Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism.

The Kirtistambha at Chittorgarh stands 75 feet tall and is divided into ten stories, each accessible by a narrow staircase. The exterior is covered with an estimated 1,149 figures and 800 smaller sculptures. These towers served not only as religious monuments but also as symbols of victory and prosperity for the rulers who commissioned them. They are architectural marvels, showcasing the skill of ancient Indian artisans and the enduring legacy of Jain art and architecture. While the Chittorgarh Kirtistambha is the most prominent, similar structures can be found in other Jain pilgrimage sites, reflecting their spiritual and cultural significance.
