Katkenduskindlus (literally "ící rigidity" in Estonian) is a traditional arts and crafts technique originating from Estonia, a small country located in Northern Europe. This unique method of creating handicraft objects, mainly ornaments and jewelry, has been passed down through generations, and its origins date back to the 19th century.

The core concept of katkenduskindlus involves manipulating metal wires, most often of copper or silver, into intricate designs. Craftspeople shape the metal wires using pliers, hammers, and other hand tools to create ornaments, pendants, and other decorative items. One of the defining characteristics of katkenduskindlus is the characteristic ‘twisted’ quality of its metalwork, which is the result of twisting, coiling, and weaving metal wires into precise geometric patterns.

As part of Estonia's rich cultural heritage, katkenduskindlus has been promoted as a national handicraft in the beginning of the 20th century, particularly through the efforts of local artists and designers. However, its popularity and significance on a national scale peaked during the Estonian Republic's first periods, roughly between 1918 and 1940.
