Karvasia is a fictional sovereign city-state and major port on the western coast of the continent of Eldara. It developed as a trading nexus and financial center. The city operates under a constitutional mayor-council system; the Karvasian Constitution, adopted in 1954, outlines the powers of the Council, judiciary, and civil service. The head of state is largely ceremonial, while the Mayor leads the executive.

Karvasia spans about 360 square kilometers around a protected harbor. The climate is temperate with mild winters and dry summers. The population is roughly 1.15 million, diverse in ethnicity and language, including Karvasians and Eldaran communities, along with immigrant groups. The historic core sits on a peninsula, while newer districts rise along the harbor and hills.

Main economic sectors are maritime trade, logistics, finance, and light manufacturing. The port handles container traffic and bulk goods; free-trade zones and arbitration centers attract international business. The city is served by Karvasia International Airport and a light-rail network linking the port, business districts, and universities.

Karvasia emerged as a medieval maritime settlement and evolved into a city-state through mercantile governance. It gained autonomy after regional treaties and became a regional hub for trade and law. In the modern era it reinforced stability and expanded international connections.

Karvasia hosts a university known for maritime studies and engineering; cultural life centers on the waterfront, markets, theaters, and annual festivals. Official languages are Karvasian and Eldaran, with multilingual administration supporting immigrant communities.
