Kammiolähtöjen, meaning ventricular exits or ventricular outputs, refers to the process by which blood is ejected from the ventricles of the heart during each heartbeat. This is a crucial part of the cardiac cycle. The right ventricle pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs for oxygenation, a process known as pulmonary circulation. The left ventricle, which is more muscular, pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of the body through systemic circulation.

The ejection of blood from the ventricles is a complex mechanical event driven by the contraction of the ventricular muscle. This contraction, called systole, increases the pressure within the ventricles. When the ventricular pressure exceeds the pressure in the aorta (for the left ventricle) and the pulmonary artery (for the right ventricle), the semilunar valves (aortic and pulmonary valves) open, allowing blood to be pushed out.

The amount of blood ejected by the ventricles is quantified by several hemodynamic parameters. Stroke volume is the volume of blood pumped out by one ventricle during a single contraction. Ejection fraction is the percentage of blood within the ventricle that is ejected during each contraction, serving as a key indicator of heart function. Cardiac output, the total volume of blood pumped by the heart per minute, is the product of stroke volume and heart rate. Disruptions in kammiolähtöjen can lead to various cardiovascular conditions, impacting the body's ability to deliver oxygen and nutrients to its tissues.
