This process is distinct from many other vacuum sealing methods that may use a vacuum pump directly on the bag. In kammarförpackningar, the item to be packaged is placed inside a bag, and the bag is then placed within a vacuum chamber. The chamber is evacuated of air, causing the bag to collapse around the product.
