As a determiner or in set phrases, kahit appears in indefinites such as kahit sino, kahit saan, and kahit ano, which translate to “anyone,” “anywhere,” and “anything” respectively. These forms convey a sense of universality or openness to any possibility. Beyond this, kahit can modify verbs, adjectives, or nouns to express concession: “Kahit mahirap, gagawin ko” (Even if it’s difficult, I’ll do it).

Grammar notes: When introducing a concessive clause with a verb, kahit typically precedes the predicate and may be followed by na in informal speech: “Kahit na umuulan, pupunta kami” (Even though it is raining, we will go).
