Justeringsvægt, often translated as adjustment weight or calibration weight, refers to a precisely manufactured mass used to calibrate or verify the accuracy of weighing instruments, such as scales and balances. These weights are made to very strict tolerances, ensuring their mass is known with a high degree of certainty.

The primary purpose of using justeringsvægt is to ensure that a weighing instrument provides accurate and reliable measurements. Over time, weighing instruments can drift from their calibrated state due to various factors, including environmental changes, wear and tear, or electronic component degradation. Regular calibration with known weights allows users to detect and correct any inaccuracies.

Justeringsvægt come in various classes of accuracy, denoted by standards such as OIML (International Organization of Legal Metrology) or ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). Higher accuracy classes, like E1 or F1, are used for calibrating highly sensitive laboratory balances, while lower classes might be suitable for industrial scales.
