Juhtimiskäskude, often translated as "management commands" or "control statements" in English, refers to a set of instructions or commands within a computer program that direct the flow of execution. These commands are fundamental to programming and allow developers to create dynamic and responsive applications rather than static sequences of operations.

The primary function of juhtimiskäskude is to alter the standard top-to-bottom execution of code. This is achieved through various mechanisms. Conditional statements, such as if-then-else structures, allow a program to make decisions based on certain criteria. The code block within the conditional statement is executed only if the specified condition is true. Loops, like for and while loops, enable the repetition of a block of code a predetermined number of times or until a specific condition is met.

Other forms of juhtimiskäskude include branching commands, which allow the program to jump to a different section of the code, and subroutine calls, which transfer control to a separate, reusable block of code (a function or procedure) and then return control to the original location. Without these juhtimiskäskude, software would be severely limited in its capabilities, unable to adapt to user input or process data in complex ways.
