They are designed to ensure that vehicles can stop safely and reliably under a range of operating conditions, thereby protecting drivers, passengers and other road users. In Finland, jarruvaatimukset are largely derived from European Union legislative framework, including the EU Regulation (EC) No. 661/2009 on motor vehicles and their trailers.
