Ispat is a term with multiple uses in different contexts. In Turkish, ispat means proof, evidence, or demonstration and is used in legal, philosophical, and everyday language to denote substantiation of a claim. The word is related to the verb ispat etmek, to prove.

In business and industry, Ispat (often seen as Ispat or Ispat in English transliteration) has been used as a corporate name or brand in the steel sector. The best-known example is Ispat International N.V., a Dutch-registered multinational steel producer founded by Lakshmi Mittal. Ispat International played a central role in the global steel industry during the late 1990s and early 2000s, and its assets were later integrated into Mittal Steel Company. Mittal Steel subsequently merged with Arcelor in 2006 to form ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel producer. Over time, the Ispat brand and corporate identifiers were largely retired as companies were reorganized and renamed in the consolidation of the global steel industry.

The name has also appeared in various Indian and other national steel enterprises, reflecting the historical use of Ispat as part of corporate identities in the sector. In many cases, these entities were absorbed, renamed, or restructured through mergers and acquisitions, leaving Ispat primarily as a historical reference within corporate histories and archival records.
