Isotro is a term used in physics and materials science to refer to isotropy, the property that a material or field has identical values or behavior in all directions. In English, the standard term is isotropy, while isotro appears as a stem or shorthand in some languages and technical glossaries, particularly where adjectives like isotrópico or isotrópico are used to describe isotropic behavior.

In materials science, isotropy means that certain properties do not depend on orientation. Examples include the behavior of many liquids and gases, and the amorphous structure of glass, where properties such as density, refractive index, and thermal conductivity are effectively the same in all directions.
