Ischia is the largest island in the Gulf of Naples, situated in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the coast of the Campania region in Italy. Covering about 47 square kilometers, it is part of the metropolitan city of Naples and has a population of around 60,000. Ischia is of volcanic origin and lies within the Neapolitan volcanic arc, with a landscape of hills, cliffs, thermal springs, and a rugged coastline. The island’s highest point is Mount Epomeo, which rises about 792 meters above sea level.
