inversionsförändringar
Inversionsförändringar refers to alterations in the typical vertical ordering of atmospheric temperature with altitude. Normally, temperature decreases with increasing altitude in the troposphere. An inversion occurs when this trend is reversed, with a layer of warmer air sitting above a layer of colder air. These inversions can form in various ways. Radiation inversions are common on clear, calm nights when the ground cools rapidly through radiation, cooling the air layer directly above it. Advection inversions form when warm air moves horizontally over a colder surface, such as a cold ocean current or snow-covered ground. Subsidence inversions are created by large-scale sinking air masses, which compress and warm as they descend.
Inversions play a significant role in weather patterns. They act as a lid, trapping air and pollutants
