Intragalactic is an adjective used to describe phenomena, objects, or processes that occur within a single galaxy. The term is formed from intra-, meaning within, and galactic, relating to a galaxy. It is primarily a descriptive label, used to distinguish events inside a galaxy from those occurring outside it.

In scientific contexts, intragalactic phenomena are typically described with more specific terms such as interstellar, which refers to matter and processes inside a galaxy, and galactic dynamics for the movement of stars and gas within the galaxy. Extragalactic or intergalactic terms refer to phenomena outside a given galaxy or between galaxies. As a result, intragalactic is less common in technical literature, but can appear in discussions that emphasize that a matter or event is contained within a single galaxy.
